On this halter you attach the lead rope to a metal ring that can slide from side to side, so when you pull sideways on the lead rope only the ring moves while the rest of the halter stays practically still instead of slipping and turning like regular rope halters tend to do. That way you get a rope halter that gives the horse clearer signals, causes less rubbing and the cheekpieces will not end up in the horse's eyes as easily.
This is a product I strongly recommend as an alternative to standard rope halters for you who seek a clearer communication with your horse and want to spare your horse from unnecessary uncomfort. I also make rope halters with the same function that are made entirely out of rope if you do not want metal parts, you can find those
here.
You can add extra nose knots if you want a rope halter that gives your horse extra clear signals and you can also add sidepull attachments if you want to be able to attach reins on the sides of your horse's head. You can then choose between sidepull rings made of metall (like the brown halter in picture 2) or sidepull loops tied with the same rope as the rest of the halter (like the hunter green halter in picture 3). The end that you tie the rope halter with is whipped with thin twine to keep the two ropes together. If you want a completely solid-colored halter you can choose the same color for the whipping as the halter or you can choose a different color for a nice contrast.
A tip: If you want several halters in the same color for more than one horse you can choose different colors for the whipping and you will easily be able to tell which halter belongs to which horse.
Please note: If this is the first time you order a rope halter from Pilgrimsrep, I strongly recommend that you measure your horse's nose circumference according to the instructions on the
Size guide page to find the right size for your horse, since sizes can vary somewhat between manufacturers.
