To attach a mecate rein to a bit, a sidepull or any similar tack it is common to use so called slobber straps made of leather, but if you prefer not to use leather these "rope slobber straps" are a good alternative.
You tie your mecate rein to the rope loops the same way you do with leather slobber straps, as shown in the pictures, and then you easily attach the rope slobbers straps to the headstall with the help of movable knots. You can find more information about how to do this on the page FAQ & Info
