To attach a mecate rein to a bit, a sidepull or any similar tack it is common to use so called slobber straps made of leather, but if you prefer not to use leather these "rope slobber straps" are a good alternative.
You tie your mecate rein to the rope loops the same way you do with leather slobber straps, as shown in the pictures, and then you easily attach the rope slobbers straps to the headstall with the help of movable knots. You can find more information about how to do this on the page
FAQ & Info.
These particular rope slobber straps each have a decorative end knot. These knots can be made in 2 different patterns, as shown in the pictures, and with 2 colors for the knot pattern to be visible. If you rather want solid-colored end knots, simply choose the same color for knot color 1 and 2 in the options above. The smaller ring knots on the slobber straps are always solid-colored.
Each slobber strap is about 15 cm (6") long in total and the loop you tie the rein to has an inner length of 6 cm (2 ⅜").
Sold in pairs, so if you order "1", you get 1 pair of 2 individual slobber straps.
