About Pilgrimsrep and me

Pilgrimsrep was founded in April 2014 in a small village called Åsmundgården in the middle of Jämtland, Sweden. It is a one-person business, so I am the one who answers your questions, accepts your orders and makes your rope products.

But who am "I" then? Well, my name is Malin Carnland and I am 33 years old. I have been around horses most of my life, first at a riding school and later I got my first own horse Pilgrim. We live on a horse farm out in the countryside and have a lot of fun together, taking long trail rides out in the woods but also doing some liberty dressage, desensitizing training and more.

Coming from a background as an English rider, I later became interested in natural horsemanship and made my very first rope halter for my horse Pilgrim. That showed me what a useful material rope is and how much fun it is to make things out of rope, but as my interest grew I also started to realize how limited the selection of rope tack for horses is here in Sweden. Most of the horse tack you can buy here is made of leather and the few types of rope tack you can get ahold of are often imported as finished products and therefore cannot be suited to each customer's preferences. I think that is wrong.

That is why I decided to start a "rope revolution". Through Pilgrimsrep I want to show what a diverse range of products you can make out of rope and give all horse and pet owners a chance to be able to choose exactly what you want. My products come in many different variants and colors, and if I do not have exactly what you are looking for I can often custom make it for you. There are not many things I cannot make, so do not be afraid to ask! The only exception is that I do not make things out of leather, because the goal of my business is to promote rope as an alternative to leather.

I have my horse Pilgrim to thank for getting me interested in making rope tack and conceiving the whole idea for this business. He has also been patient as my "guinea pig" when I try out new rope tack creations I have made and without him I probably would not have started this business. That is why I chose to name my business "Pilgrimsrep" after him, which is a combination of his name and the word "rep" which means "rope" in Swedish.
