Pilgrimsrep was founded in April 2014 in a small village called Åsmundgården in central Jämtland, Sweden. It is a one-woman business and I see each and every one of my customers as individuals, so you will never get lost in the crowd. I am the one who answers all of your questions, the one who accepts your order and makes your rope products, so you can expect everything to be done right.
But who am "I" then? Well, my name is Malin Carnland and I am 28 years old. I have been around horses most of my life, have a horse called Pilgrim, live on a farm and am a real country girl.
I come from a background as an English rider but some years ago I became interested in natural horsemanship and made my very first rope halter for my horse Pilgrim. That showed me what a useful material rope is and how much fun it is to make things out of rope, but as my interest grew I also started to realize how limited the selection of rope tack for horses is here in Sweden. Almost all horse tack you can buy here is made of leather and the few types of rope tack you actually can buy are often imported as finished products and cannot be made according to each customer's preferences. I think that is wrong.
That is why I decided to start a "rope revolution". Through Pilgrimsrep I want to show what a diverse range of products you can make out of rope and give all horse and pet owners a chance to be able to choose exactly what you want. My products come in many different variants and colors and if I do not have exactly what you are looking for I can custom make it for you. There are not many things I cannot make, so do not be afraid to ask! The only exception is that I do not make things out of leather, because the whole goal of my business is to promote rope as an alternative to leather.
It is thanks to my horse Pilgrim that I started making rope tack and the idea of this business was born. Pilgrim is also my guinea pig who I test new rope tack on and without him I probably would not have started this business. That is why I chose to name my business "Pilgrimsrep" after him, which is a combination of his name Pilgrim and the word "rep" which means "rope" in Swedish.
