This rope halter has small metal rings tied into the nose knots that you can attach reins to and can thus be used as a sidepull headstall. When you ride with reins attached on the sides of your horse's head you can give clear direct and open rein aids, which can help if, for example, your horse is not so used to being ridden bitless.
The sidepull rope halters I make normally have lead rope loops so that you can also use them for ground work, but if you plan to use your halter only for riding you can choose not to have lead rope loops. The variant with lead rope loops has a ring knot above the fiador knot to keep it in place when you ride with reins attached to the side rings and do not use the lead rope loops.
The end that you tie the rope halter with is whipped with thin twine to keep the two ropes together. If you want a completely solid-colored halter you can choose the same color for the whipping as the halter or you can choose a different color for a nice contrast. The ring knot above the fiador knot will have the same color as the tie end whipping.
A tip: If you want several halters in the same color for more than one horse you can choose different colors for the whipping and you will easily be able to tell which halter belongs to which horse.
You can also add extra nose knots if you want a rope halter that gives your horse extra clear signals.
I also make sidepull halters with rope loops on the sides insted of rings if you do not want metal parts, you can find those
here.
