This rope bosal is built in much the same way as the nose part of a rope halter, with double 6 mm (1/4") ropes and a fiador knot under the chin with loops that the reins attaches to. There are two length options to choose from for the rein loops: the standard length (6-8 cm depending on the size of the bosal) works well if you plan to use the bosal with loop or split reins, while extra long loops (10 cm) are suitable if you want to be able to tie a mecate rein to the loops.
The bosal is braided all the way around, including where the bridle will sit, to make it firm and as similar to a traditional rawhide bosal as possible. Since it is made of rope it is however pliable at the same time and shapes itself according to the horse.
There are 2 braid patterns to choose from, as shown in the pictures. The braiding can be done with 2 colors for the pattern to be visible but if you rather want solid-colored braiding, simply choose the same color for braid color 1 and 2 in the options above. You can also choose if you want a different braiding color only on the front nose part or on the sides as well.
